Monteith has a long and proud history of deep roots in our local communities. We understand the value and importance of not only giving back but being an active member of the communities which house our business and employees. At Monteith, we engage the community in a number of ways;
- hiring local; suppliers, subcontractors and employees
- communication with local organizations for long term projects
- directly participating and donating to events and programs within the community
- creating contests for local students
For every project we work closely with the local residents and associated organization to ensure open communication and minimize disruption through the construction process. Any concerns before or during construction are always immediately address by our project teams.
We acknowledge, both the responsibility to ensure the community understands our work and intention over the construction process, and responsibility to support and strengthen all the communities in which we work.
Monteith supports many charitable organizations and encourages all of our employees to participate actively in their communities.
Edmonton MS Walk
Monteith employees joined over 1,600 walkers and runners at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park for a 5K walk to raise money to help find a cure and cause for MS.
Monteith Annual Christmas Card Contest
Each year one of our school projects is selected to participate in our annual Christmas Card Contest. Students of all ages are welcomed to submit their design for the company holiday greeting card. The winner receives a gift card to a toy store, a donation to a charity of their choosing and a pizza party for their class.
This year we asked the students at St. Catherine of Siena School in Barrie to participate in our annual Christmas card design contest. We received over 100 submissions and the winner was Eryn Hussey, a grade 3 student. We made a donation in her name to World Vision (her choice) to aid with typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines. Her $100 donation will be matched by the Ontario government, making it $200. Eryn is shown above (in blue) with the winners of honourable mentions from each class.
Bowl for Kids Sake
Monteith has been an active participant in Bowl for Kids Sake for over 7 years. We believe that all kids deserve a role model to support them in reaching their fullest potential. Each year more employees wish to be a part of this great event and Monteith has supported this initiative by providing donations for two teams to participate.
